Washington – Congresswoman Sue Kelly Wednesday urged House members to better support the needs of local small businesses. Speaking on the House floor, Kelly noted the input she received from Hudson Valley small business owners and other local residents during small business walks she held last month. “They asked for affordable health insurance o be more accessible for them to be able to provide for their employees,” she said. “Only 41 percent of the smallest businesses can afford to offer health benefits compared with 99 percent of large companies.” Taxes was the other recurring topic among business people during her walking tours, Kelly told the lawmakers. |
