Hall will be a tax-raising congressman, if elected Poughkeepsie Journal-Letter to the Editor
I noticed the Democratic Party recently picked a candidate to run against U.S. Rep. Sue Kelly in November’s election. As a supporter of Kelly, I was thrilled to see they selected the most far-left candidate they could choose.
A glance at John Hall’s Web site says a lot. Here in New York, we pay some of the highest taxes in the nation, yet it is amazing to see how little Hall’s Web site addresses the issue. Where is his plan to reduce property taxes in New York? Where is his plan to reduce the death tax, the income tax rates, or the Alternative Minimum Tax? There seems to be no plan to reduce taxes at all.
As a matter of fact, Hall would like to repeal the Bush tax cuts that have let hard-working New Yorkers keep more of what they earn. The concept of reducing the tax burden seems entirely lost on Hall.
We don’t need to send someone to Washington to raise taxes. It’s time to let people know Hall is just another politician who, if elected, would take even more money out of your pocket and give it to someone else to spend in Washington.
