Major Labor Union Says Kelly “Still the One” Building & Construction Union Throws Support Behind Congresswoman
New Windsor – The 15,000 member strong Hudson Valley Building & Construction Trades Council today endorsed Sue Kelly in her bid for re-election to Congress.
Citing her strong record of support for working men and women, as well as her support for reducing the tax burden on families and bringing federal funding back to the Hudson Valley, over 20 local labor leaders stood with the Congresswoman to announce their support.
Todd Diorio, President of the Hudson Valley Building & Construction Trades Council, said “Sue Kelly has always fought for the working people of the Hudson Valley. She has fought for infrastructure funding for roads, bridges & schools. Her voting record on the issues that affect working trades has been superior. She has always been on our side. On behalf of the Trades Council, we are proud to support & endorse Sue Kelly for Congress.”
Sam Fratto, Vice-President of the Council, stated, “The Building & Construction Trades Council supports candidates across party lines. We base that support on each candidates’ track record of supporting workers ability to earn a decent living. We say to Sue Kelly, ‘You are still the one.’
“I am honored to have the support of the Building & Construction Trades Council. Every day, I am driven to do my best to make sure the economy continues to expand,” said Kelly. “By reducing the federal tax burden, by bringing back funds for local projects for schools, roads & bridges, we have been able to keep good jobs right here in the Hudson Valley. I pledge to continue to do everything I can to make sure the economy keeps expanding.”
